10th Anniversary of LEGO Star Wars

LEGO Star Wars will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2009.
It is been 10 fantastic, very successful years, with great models, and very loyal and engaged fans. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm throughout all those years !
To celebrate our anniversary we would like to develop a special Ultimate Collector model at retail price of around 150 USD/EUR. We would like to get your ideas, input as to what model would celebrate our anniversary best and express best LEGO Star Wars values. We are collecting input from different sources including Lucasfilm team. Therefore we can not commit that any model suggested by fans will be launched in 2009, if there is an awesome novelty coming out of Lucasfilm studios. Please share your ideas by answering the following questions:

    * What model do you recommend that LEGO Star Wars launches in October 2009 as celebration of LEGO Star Wars 10th anniversary ?



    * Should it be a model in minifigure scale or a big display model?

 

    * Which key characters / mini figures should be included, if model is minifigure scale?



    * What key functions should be included ?

Têm sido 10 anos fantásticos e de sucesso, com grandes modelos, e muitos fãs leais e dedicados. Obrigado pelo vosso apoio e entusiasmo durante todos estes anos!
Para celebrar o nosso aniversário, gostaríamos de desenvolver um modelo especial Ultimate Collector com um preço de retalho de cerca de 150 USD/EUR. * Que funções-chave deverão ser incluídas?

These are not my own proposals, but the previous ones presented, according with the Questions specified, with my personal adaptations.

Proposal #1

  * What model do you recommend that LEGO Star Wars launches in October 2009 as celebration of LEGO Star Wars 10th anniversary ?

----> R2-D2  unit, UCS series (in a reduced scale, maybe 1/4)

    * Should it be a model in minifigure scale or a big display model?

----> display model

    * Which key characters / mini figures should be included, if model is minifigure scale?

----> (does not apply)

* What key functions should be included ?

----> All known gadjets that this character is known (maybe with Power Functions, for a fun remote control).
In my opinion, these kind of models are good in scale, but not so "fun" because they are static "statues". This model in particular is known by it's moving parts. The application of these mobile parts could be a very important issue in this model: the R2-D2 is rich in these features.


Proposal #2

  * What model do you recommend that LEGO Star Wars launches in October 2009 as celebration of LEGO Star Wars 10th anniversary ?

----> AT-AT

    * Should it be a model in minifigure scale or a big display model?

----> minifigure scale compared to human size (similar to millennium falcon idea)

    * Which key characters / mini figures should be included, if model is minifigure scale?

----> Taking the example of the Millennium Falcon UCS, this model could include the known associated figures: snowtroopers, General Veers, maybe speederbikes as well.

* What key functions should be included ?

----> Taking the example of the Millennium Falcon UCS, open-able areas to check interior details.

----> C3-PO (scale 1:6 or something)

    * Should it be a model in minifigure scale or a big display model?

----> Ultimate Collector's Series

    * Which key characters / mini figures should be included, if model is minifigure scale?

----> could have one C3-PO special edition holding his leg in his hand

* What key functions should be included ?

----> it should be able to "fall" apart so we can kinda asseble him as we want... or even not assemble, just leave the parts around 

PS: The proposal of the R2-D2 could and probably should be done in the same scale if they are chosen so they'll look nice one aside the other

----> The JEDI palace, at Coruscant

    * Should it be a model in minifigure scale or a big display model?

----> minifig-scaled, big display!

    * Which key characters / mini figures should be included, if model is minifigure scale?

----> all jedi minifig, including jedi academy kids.

* What key functions should be included ?

----> It should include: The Jedi Council meeting room, the library, the jedi academy rooms...
All areas "open-able" for a better visualization. Eaven being a UCS series, the possiblilty of being "playable", takes these sets into another GREAT level!

Podemos agregar as propostas da PLUG todas juntas e mandar um e-mail conjunto, em nome da PLUG! (Assim se mostra a nossa união!)

Vou acrescentar uma sondagem a este tópico, para o pessoal dizer que propostas é que gosta! Acho que ficará bem um "contador" a dizer quantos apoiam cada uma das propostas!

Pelo que percebi era mesmo esse o objectivo... daqui a 1 semana enviam-se todas as propostas... lol

De qq forma eu escolhi o jedi temple porque de entre os apresentados será o único que terá mf e isso a mim diz-me muito.
O at-at é totalmente descabido porque por 150.€ é impossivel fazer um modelo UCS que lhe faça justiça. No minímo teria de ser um set que rondasse os 300.€ ou então uns 550.€ e teríamos um modelo verdadeiramente á altura do seu valor tal como temos a UCS MF. Quanto ao R2 e ao C3, o primeiro ainda escaparia com alguma dignidade, teríamos um set do tamanho do antigo "Yoda" UCS, se optássemos pelo C3 e uma vez que este é uma figura maior que a anterior, não teríamos grande UCS, ainda por cima sabendo nós que se queremos uma verdadeira réplica do tal C3 terá de ser "mesmo" douradinha.

Mas já agora, gostaria de perguntar a este senhor embaixador espanhol se nos temos de cingir aquela lista para a escolha de um set comemorativo ou se poderemo optar por outras? É que se for para escolher uma construção tipo Jedi Temple sei de uma outra que é muito mais emblemática da saga SW. Essa sim, seria o verdadeiro ícon Lucasiano
