Depois de ter pedido uma cópia da revista "The Brick" de 2011, recebi a seguinte resposta:

Dear Christophe

Thank you for your e-mail and request for a printed copy of “The Brick” magazine.

However, we regret to inform you that the magazine will NOT be published anymore.

The annual magazine – The Brick – came into being in 2009 because we wanted to invite the readers into our universe and share some of the stories that don’t always make the media headlines. Things that would give the readers an insight into how we think and work, and into what is important to us in our work with LEGO products.

At the same time, The Brick was intended to support our annual reports on financial as well as non-financial data, as we hoped to reach out to readers who want to know a little more about the company behind the world-famous bricks.

Experience has shown us, however, that even though a lot of readers have had a very positive attitude towards the publication, we have not managed to reach out successfully to all our stakeholders. Based on this conclusion, we have decided to discontinue the publication of The Brick and consider whether another solution would be more effective, while at the same time using our own resources in an optimal way.

One of our intentions is to create an additional “news channel” on the “About Us” section of our website LEGO.com in order to give all LEGO.com visitors the possibility of getting a deeper insight into the entire LEGO universe. The stories that will appear in this upcoming new and updated “About us” section will include “behind the figures” news, so you will realize that in future many of the themes that have so far been covered in The Brick will be found in this news channel instead.

The news channel is not yet fully in place, but we expect the site to be up and running during 2011.

We look forward to providing you with new LEGO stories and subjects of interest – sparking off inspiring thoughts and ideas.

A revista anual "The Brick" surgiu em 2009, porque queríamos convidar os leitores no nosso universo e compartilhar algumas das histórias que nem sempre fazem as manchetes da mídia. Coisas que dariam aos leitores uma visão de como pensamos e trabalhamos; e no que é importante para nós no nosso trabalho com os produtos LEGO.

Ao mesmo tempo, "The Brick" foi destinado a apoiar os nossos relatórios anuais financeiros, bem como não financeiros;  esperávamos chegar aos leitores que querem saber um pouco mais sobre a empresa por trás dos tijolos mundialmente famosos.

A experiência tem nos mostrado, entretanto, que apesar de muitos leitores terem tido uma atitude muito positiva em relação à publicação, não conseguimos alcançar com êxito todos os nossos interessados. Com base nesta conclusão, decidimos descontinuar a publicação de "The Brick" e considerar outra solução mais eficaz, ao mesmo tempo, usando os nossos próprios recursos de uma forma optimizada.

Uma das nossas intenções é criar um "canal de notícias" adicionais na seção "Sobre nós" do nosso website LEGO.com, a fim de dar a todos os visitantes a possibilidade de obter uma visão mais profunda do inteiro universo LEGO. As histórias que aparecerão nesta nova e atualizada seção incluirão notícias "por trás dos números". Vai perceber que, no futuro, muitos dos temas que têm sido até agora cobertos no "The Brick" serão encontrados neste canal de notícias.

O canal de notícias ainda não está totalmente pronto, mas esperamos que o site esteja a funcionar em 2011.

Estamos ansiosos para fornecê-lo com novas histórias LEGO e assuntos de interesse - desencadeando pensamentos inspiradores e idéias.
